Welcome to the Submission page of the People’s Select Committee.
If the amendments to the Equal Pay Act 1972 had been proposed publicly and there had been the opportunity for submissions to a select committee, what would you have said? For more information to guide your submission go to Scope and Purpose tab.
The People’s Select Committee on Pay Equity will use the information you provide to inform the final report on the amendments made in May 2025 to the Equal Pay Act 1972. This report will be publicly released to take the place of the usual Select Committee consideration of these amendments.
We will contact you directly if we want to clarify any matters you raise.
Submissions to the People’s Select Committee are not subject to requests to release information under the Official Information Act. The Committee may, however, relate key themes emerging from the submissions, and offer detail in the public interest, during the process of receiving submissions. This will always be for transparency and reporting purposes. Oral submission hearings will also be live-streamed for the public to engage with, unless a closed session is specifically requested. Please clearly indicate in the submission form or email accompanying your submission what parts of your submission, whether written or oral, are confidential to the Committee.
The Privacy Act 2020 applies to your submission. Any personal information you supply to the Committee while making a submission will be used to assist in the development of its report. It will be used only for this immediate purpose. Future researchers may have access, but only after embargoes, to be decided by the Committee, have expired. Please tell us, in the cover letter or e-mail accompanying your submission, if you do not wish your name, or any other personal information, to be included in the final report, summary of submissions, or media releases regarding submissions that the Committee may publish.
Personal information will be stored securely. The Secretariat will ensure that confidentiality and transparency standards concerning the storage of information submitted are met with once the report has been completed.
